Most people will link quite naturally Seri Kembangan with Universiti Putra Malaysia (formerly known as Universiti Pertanian Malaysia), Serdang new village, Hakka and Hainanese food, starfruits, home-based shoe-makers, small-scale furniture and carpentry factories, and traffic congestions.

However, Seri Kembangan today has achieved a sizeable development stage that requires a lot of upgrades and makeovers, mainly due to the ever-increasing population there. In fact, the township upgrade has been ongoing since recent years.
